Our literacy program has been made possible thanks to our partners at Scholastic and local community donors. This program is geared towards self-development of our youths ages 3-12 years old. By ensuring that our youth are competent and proficient in reading, we, as a community is able to guarantee that they are on the right path for a successful life.
Why is Literacy Important?
Being competent and proficient in reading will not only guarantee academic accomplishments, but it will also make certain that underprivileged youths are given a fair opportunity for a better future earned through education. Our program aims to help our youth prevent the effects of being illiterate. Effects include, but are not limited to behavioral problems, juvenile delinquency, and school drop-outs.
The overall goal is to enhance the literacy of our youth, through donating books to families with children who struggle with reading and writing. Please contact us if you have a child struggling with literacy and would like to receive more information or sign up for this program.
