On January 20, 2016, Speak Loud Incorporated hosted a character day at The Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health, downtown Florida. The day featured Marshall of Paw Patrol distributing Paw Patrol books, hugs and paw prints to the children who were admitted to several floors.
During the event, each child’s face lit up with a smile and a few of the kids even did a double take at their televisions, to ensure that Paw Patrol did not come out the screen. One special kid tucked her teddy in while she went for a procedure and Marshall of Paw Patrol was sure to leave a book on the bed beside the teddy.
Distributing the books to the children who were admitted to The Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health, was more than just a day event. It was an effort to support the foundations “Readers are Leaders” program.
This program was specifically designed by the foundation as a means to get the children and the doctors to bond over story time, eliminating the fear of seeing a doctor walk into the room. Additionally, reading is an extra tool to ease a child’s mind from their illness, while developing their literacy.
Our day’s event would not have been possible without Nicholas Millar CEO of I’m Just 4 Fun Characters. The company’s in-kind service truly brought the event to life and allow the children to experience a one of a kind day.
After the event, Ann Fogel, Coordinator of Child Life at The Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health stated,
“The children loved Paw Patrol. He was entertaining and simply lovable and thank you for making our children so happy!”
